The Anna Arts Center is hosting a Civil War Weekend in Anna, IL. A quick snapshot of the planned events include: a Blue and Grey Dinner; exhibits which include re-enactors and storytelling; and Civil War era food and music.
Exhibits include a walk-through exhibit “Journey to Freedom – Illinois’ Underground Railroad”. Many picture/story panels tell the known history of the Underground Railroad in Illinois. Professionally created by the Looking for Lincoln organization in Springfield, Illinois and is booked in several cities for the next two years. Union County is very fortunate to have this display on loan. Speakers and exhibits are all free and everyone is invited.
