Presidential History
This repurposed rail depot is home to a museum telling the story of Batavia’s past through the present, including an exhibit on former First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln.
Experience railroad and war history alongside Batavia-related exhibits. Housed in an 1854 Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad depot, the train museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and comes alive with historic exhibits on rail transportation, windmills and the settlement of Batavia. The original bed and dresser from Mary Todd Lincoln's room at Bellview Sanitarium are displayed here.
